Our First Birthday!

June 1, 2014 marked Alifa Wong Beauty & Bridal's first year of business! We cannot thank everyone enough for the constant support for our beauty lounge and bridal boutique!

If you did not know already, our Classic Pedicure includes a handmade scrub that we make ourselves. We release a new handmade scrub each month, and since June marks our first birthday, we released our "Birthday Cake Scrub". We hope you stop in this month to indulge in our sweet and yummy scrub that is so good, you'll want to eat it! Also, in honor of our first birthday, we are hosting giveaways on our Facebook and Instagram, so be sure you are following us to be informed of a new giveaway each WEEK!

Just a friendly reminder to our friends that we are hosting an event at our beauty lounge on Saturday, June 21st. Our special guest of honor is Master Y.C. Blepharitis & Eyelash Extension Aftercare

 
Blepharitis is a common inflammation of the eyelids that many of our clients approach us about. You should never feel ashamed if someone tells you that you have blepharitis as it is extremely common amongst many.

People with blepharitis may experience a gritty or burning sensation in their eyes, excessive tearing, itching, red or swollen eyelids, dry eyes or crusting of the eyelids.

What can you do to prevent being diagnosed with blepharitis? Regular cleaning and good eyelid hygiene prevents blepharitis as blepharitis is a result of improper eye cleaning.

For our lash clients, here are a few important tips to know for your eyelash extensions aftercare:

• Do not get lashes wet for the first 24 hours. 
• Do not use steam or sauna room for the first 48 hours. 
• Do not use waterproof mascara. 
• Do not use eye creams or makeup remover that contains oil. 
• Do not use manual eyelash curler. Use a heated lash curler. 
• Avoid rubbing extensions when washing face. Pat face dry. 
• Use cotton swab to remove eye makeup. 
• Do not perm or tint eyelash extensions. 
• Never pull of extensions. This will also pull out your natural lashes.

How to Get On the Path to Clear Skin: #AlifaWongBeautyTips

Almost everyday, you will see us post on our Facebook or Instagram some of our treasured tips on makeup, skin, and hair. It's time to share with you some extremely simple tips that you can incorporate into your everyday routine to help with the condition of your skin!

It may sound silly, but changing and washing your pillowcases and bedsheets have a great deal to do with your skin. Believe it or not, your pillowcases and bedsheets are where all of the bacteria and skin buildup collect. Makes sense right? We do lay our faces on our bed every night! Getting into the routine of washing your pillowcases and bedsheets will greatly improve our skin.

This next tip seems so logical, yet do we all really do this? We need to make sure to wash our hands before we wash our face! Sounds logical right? Most of us are always in a hurry to wash our face and head straight to bed or work right after, but let's not forget to wash what we're touching our face with! Washing our face with dirty hands defeats the purpose of washing our face clean!

These are just two SIMPLE ways we can improve our everyday routines and pay a little more attention to our precious skin.

What Are the Differences Between the Three?!

At Alifa Wong Beauty & Bridal, the most common question we hear about our nail services is,

"What is the differences between the gels???"

So, let us explain to all of your curious souls out there what the differences are between the three types of Gel Polish we offer at our beauty lounge. 

CND Shellac

Technically, Shellac is not a "Gel Polish". Shellac is considered to be a "power polish" that lasts up to two weeks without chipping. The nail color cures with a UV lamp, dries immediately, and removes with no damage to the nail. 

  Gelish Gel Polish

"Gelish® Soak-Off Gel Polish applies like polish and cures in a LED lamp in 30 seconds, or 2 minutes in traditional UV lamps. Gelish stays on nails for up to 3 weeks with no chipping or peeling, and soaks completely off in only 10 - 15 minutes."

Gelish Gel Polish is a domestic hybrid gel polish that lasts up to three weeks with no chipping or peeling and can be cured in an LED lamp. Removal requires a complete soak off for about 15 minutes

Presto Gel
